Medication Requests – Easter 2025

Posted on:

The run up to the Easter bank holiday weekend is one of the busiest times of the year for pharmacies dispensing prescriptions.

The last thing you want this Easter is to find yourself without vital medication.

Please find attached a list of the opening times for the Pharmacies in Bedfordshire on Easter Sunday.

If you would have ordered your repeat prescription on either the 18th or the 21st April, the Pharmacy Team at the Practice would like you to order this by the 16th April.  They will endeavour to complete these prescriptions before the Easter break.

Please always remember to order your repeat medication five working days before it is required.

111 EMERGENCY SUPPLY THROUGH PHARMACIES

If you have forgotten to request your repeat prescription in time, you may be able to get help from your pharmacy.

You can complete an online 111 referral using this link https://111.nhs.uk/emergency-prescription

You will then need to contact your pharmacy.  The emergency supply of medicines is at the discretion of the pharmacist.  The pharmacist may decide that it does not fall under the emergency criteria, and ask you to submit a request to your surgery using the normal processes.  This service does not cover Controlled Drugs.

Emergency prescriptions – NHS 111111 online Emergency prescriptions. Use this service to request a limited emergency supply of a medicine you’ve completely run out of. This must be a medicine you are prescribed regularly, through a repeat prescription.111.nhs.uk
