If you feel you need support from like-minded people in your situation, Carers in Bedfordshire also offer a service called the Carer’s Café. The Carer’s Café offers a sociable environment where carers can relax in a friendly atmosphere and meet others in a similar situation, with experienced staff on hand to offer support, further information and advice.
The nearest Carer’s Café to the surgery is that of the Goldington Centre in Bedford, with the group meeting on the 4th Saturday of the month, between 1pm until 5pm. It costs just £1 to attend the Carers Café, with under 5’s being free. For those who would struggle with getting to the Goldington Centre, transport is also available for just £1, with this being arranged in advance.
